Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity
Our EMF window films are designed to help protect people against the harmful effects of electromagnetic pollution through the glass from a wide variety of sources.
Mobile phones, mobile phone masts and DECT cordless phones
WiFi, wireless games consoles and computers/laptops
Power lines, substations and smart meters
House wiring faults, and household appliances
Dirty electricity (DE) from CFL lamps, induction hobs and solar power installations
Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity can also be referred to similarly as electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), electrohypersensitivity, electro-sensitivity, and electrical sensitivity (ES).
The hazardous effects of electromagnetic fields on the body are well established at this point as sufferers of electromagnetic hypersensitivity report responding to non-ionizing electromagnetic fields (or electromagnetic radiation) at intensities well below the limits permitted by international radiation safety standards.
- Symptoms -
Some symptoms include headache, fatigue, stress, sleep disturbances, skin symptoms like prickling, burning sensations and rashes, pain and ache in muscles and many other health problems. Some sufferers report that their electromagnetic hypersensitivity has given them long-lasting symptoms and severe handicaps.
One of the most vulnerable areas in your home or workplace is your glazing. Although it is difficult to escape EMF’s in modern society, our EMF window films offer a very effective glass shielding.
What EMF Shielding Window Film What To choose
Many of our solar control window films are manufactured from the application of metal particles applied onto a polyester surface. These metals particles provide solar energy protection, visible light rejection and various performances. In addition to solar energy protection and light rejection, some films also help to reduce the effects of radio frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum. These frequencies include all UHF and VHF TV broadcast channels, AM and FM radio, cell and cordless phones, satellite GPS navigation and communication frequencies.
UK Window Films can provide three proven EMF shielding window films that can help reduce the EMF (electromagnetic field)/ RF (radio frequency) signals when applied to the windows of your home or workplace.
EMF 70 is a premium precious metal window film for shielding of windows and glass surfaces from high-frequency radiation (HF). The EMF 70 is to be used exclusively for indoor applications on non-heat-absorbing glass. EMF 70 is virtually undetectable once installed and will not changing the appearance for your windows. EMF 70 provides unaltered views, looking out or in of your windows. Combined with outstanding solar control benefits, EMF 70 offers huge benefits in one application.
Our Solar Control 20 and 40 window films provide fractionally lower RF shielding but are much more cost-effective. The darker Solar Control 20 window film provides optimum heat and glare reduction, daytime privacy, and still allows the natural light to enter the room.
Whilst Solar Control 40 has a lighter appearance, this film still has substantial heat and glare reduction, medium daytime privacy, and still allows the natural light to enter. Solar Control 40 is hardly noticeable from the inside with a subtle, reflective finish outside.

Chart 1 shows the shielding
effectiveness of our highest EMF protection performance
solar control window films.
Electric and magnetic energy emitted by
many electronic devices may interfere
with the function of other electronic
devices. The majority of electromagnetic
interference (EMI) problems originate in
the radio frequency (RF) bandwidth of the
spectrum from 30 KHz to 10GHz. Some
of the common bandwidths used in
communication are listed
Chart 2 shows the shielding
effectiveness at 30-600 MHz in db for our
solar control window films.
A quick look at the formula for shielding
effectiveness shows that every 6dB of
attenuation corresponds to a 50 percent
signal reduction. Therefore, any value
shown in the table above that has an
attenuation level of 25dB or greater is
effective in shielding at that frequency.
Chart 3 shows the shielding
effectiveness at 0.8-10 GHz in db for our
solar control window films.
A quick look at the formula for shielding
