The transitional window film is installed to the inside of your glass. When exposed to the sun’s harmful Ultra Violet Light (UV), like sunglasses a photochromic chemical reaction takes place in the film and darkens the glass with a tint. Reducing the sun’s UV Light, Heat and Glare whilst still maintaining a clear view looking out.

Photochromic window film will reduce the sun’s glare when needed, without blocking your view like traditional window blinds or curtains. This offers a unique advantage. On dull or cloudy days and at night the tinting produced by the film is minimal. Enabling a clear view in and out of the window and allow more natural light to enter the room. The photochromic film will only react when the sun’s rays intensify during the day.

How it works?
Our photochromic window film uses a precious metal magnetron spluttering technique and nano-ceramic technology particle coating technology. For the IR of solar heat reduction, this is achieved by a subtle silver reflective coating.
When exposed to the sun’s UV light. The photochromic film molecules react to create a protective darkening effect or tint. The molecules react by changing there shape/structure to absorb the light when exposed to the UV Light radiation.
The film darkens or tints fast within 10 minutes. Cutting the glare by up to 85% and reduce the UV Light by 99.5%.
As the UV Light goes away the molecules in the film return to their original state and the tint diminishes.
TWF R80 Technical Standards
TWF R80 is the latest transitional photochromic window film available. It starts at a high clarity of 72 VLT, clearer than our other photochromic films, and darkens to a VLT of 25. TWR R80 retains a greyscale tint.
As well as having the strongest glare control for transitional film, TWF R80 has outstanding protection against the sun’s harmful rays with an IR rejection of 95% and UV rejection of 99%.
It also has a good SC rating of 0.48, adding effective heat rejection to its capabilities.
The film is supplied on a roll of 1520mm x 30m, minimum 5m long roll per order.
